Wall + Response Series Three – “Affordable Housing / Vivienda Asequible” – In Progress

Our Wall + Response team has been working on the upcoming third series Affordable Housing/Vivienda Asequible.

Inspiring day on Clarion Alley filming, with poets Celeste Chan, Paul Corman-Roberts, and Tim Xonnelly reading their new works in response to the mural Affordable Housing/Vivienda Asequible by SF Print Collective working with the

Western Regional Advocacy Project (WRAP) – and filming artist Art Hazelwood and WRAP director Paul Boden speaking on the power of art in community organizing and social/culture change.
The mural Affordable Housing/Vivienda Asequible (2016) by the SF Print Collective working with the Western Regional Advocacy Project (WRAP) represents people working together against the structures of oppression to become a powerful force of nurturance, peace, and justice. The mural speaks to WRAP’s critical work to expose and eliminate the root causes of homelessness and poverty, empower communities to demand protection of civil and human rights, and advocate for restoring federal funding for affordable housing. The mural will travel to Los Angeles’ Skid Row later in 2021.

Thank you to our awesome videographer Mahima Kotian and awesome sound person and publicist Evan Karp. Thank you Thomas Scandura for being there to help and your support. Thank you to CAMP Board members Kyoko Sato for stopping by for support.

Unfortunately poet MK Chavez was unable to join us; however she’s been busy writing in Oregon! We missed you MK!

Our next event is on April 30th at 7pm hosted by The Booksmith and The Bindery.

The project is made possible with the generous support of the San Francisco Arts Commission and the Zellerbach Family Foundation.

Deep gratitude and respect for the entire Wall + Response team of participants and producers!
